Potty Update

Carson is now wearing pull-ups all day at school, staying dry (even during naptime), and going on the potty whenever he needs to go to the bathroom. He is also wearing pull-ups at home (except at night) and going on the potty here too. Yipee! :)

Hockey Tickets, Deer Creek, and Farm Days at Cosi

This past weekend we did lots of fun activities. On Saturday, we went to Nationwide arena to pick out our Bluejackets seats for 10 games for the upcoming season. Then, we drove to Deer Creek to meet up with Wendy and Grandpa Mo. We had a picnic, walked around the park, and Carson got to practice some golf there as well. On Sunday, we had fun at the Farm Days exhibit at Cosi. Carson got to sit in a lot of the tractors and big farm machines.

New golf clubs

Carson got his first set of real golf clubs (and golf glove) last weekend. He played some golf with Alula and Debbie when they visited. Carson has been practicing his swing everyday.

Baby elephant

At the zoo last weekend we saw a baby elephant with his mommy...so cute.

Hocking Hills trip

We went to Hocking Hills during the 4th of July weekend. We had a great time!! We stayed in a cabin in the woods. We went canoeing (5 miles in the Hocking River), did some hiking (Old Man's Cave), made a fire and roasted marshmallows (Carson enjoyed his 1st smore), and we saw some deer. We definitely want to go back again soon. It was a great family trip!

Sleepy boy

For the past week, Carson hadn't been sleeping as much...getting used to being in a toddler bed. It finally caught up with him. Here he is on Sunday in the middle of eating his peanut butter and jelly sandwich at lunch...sound asleep with the jelly on his face.

Sports

Carson really likes playing sports. This weekend we took him back to the driving range. He was hitting the golf balls with his clubs and he loved it! He also played soccer in the backyard.

Mommy's 30th birthday

It was a weekend of celebrating...On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy went to a wedding in Cleveland (also Mommy's 30th bday). Carson made a very yummy chocolate birthday cake for Mommy (with Grammie and Aunt Pam's help :)). Then, Carson got to eat more cake when Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dave visited on Sunday.

Big Boy Bed

Last night, we decided to convert Carson's crib into a toddler bed. Carson had recently showed interest in getting out of the crib on his own, so we figured it was time for the bed. We said goodnight to him in the bed, but we found it asleep in his chair a little later. We moved him back in the bed and he stayed in there the rest of the night. It will be an adjustment for all of us...now that he can get in and out of bed on his own. He's growing up so fast!

Weekend activities...swimming and baseball

This weekend was lots of fun. We joined the Hilliard pool, so we went there twice this weekend. Carson loves playing in the water. There is a lazy river, a toddler area, lots of big slides, and other pools for swimming. Carson loved watching Daddy jump/dive off the diving board. After Daddy dove off the board, Carson walked in the line and said "Now I'm going off the board too." :) We will definitely be going there a lot this summer.
On Sunday, we went to the Reds vs Indians game with Adam, Katie, and Evan, and Brian, Jenn, and Caleb. This was Carson's first baseball game and he had been talking about it all week. It was really hot that day (a 1pm game, as you can see the sweat on Carson's face as he stares intently at the game)! Carson enjoyed watching the players hit the ball ("Hit the ball guys."). After about 2 innings, Carson, Evan, and Caleb played in the play area and ate some snacks. Carson is still excited that he went to the game, so maybe we'll take him to a Clipper's game next...

Kings Island

Today we took Carson to Kings Island for the first time. He loved it! Carson went on lots of fun rides...a helicopter, Blue's Skidoo, Go Diego Go (Diego's jeep), a train ride, and his first roller coaster ride! Also, he made a friend while driving a car. He gave all of the characters that he met a big hug. We met up with Grammie Pat, Great Aunt Pam, Aunt Beth and Joe, cousin Jessie, Tim, and Great Uncle Rick while we there there too.
